Job description
professional with 5 Years’ experience as QA & QC INSPECTOR in a shipyard
Ensure all welding activities as per WSP/ SPECIFICATION /CODE
● Knowledge in welding activities of piping, structural steel, boilers parts, tanks, pressure vessels, and mechanical works etc.
● Work experience in ship
● Material inspection and dimensional check & documentation of welding joints and review as per
construction code & standards, drawings etc.
● Knowledge in WPS, PQR, WQT review and prepare as per code
● Knowledge of standards and codes in welding inspection like ASME sec IX, VIII div 1, sec II A & C, B31.3, AWS D 1.1, API1104, BS EN, ASTM, etc.
● Confident to handle the Qc welding activities on shopfloor.
● Experience in welding inspection and knowledge of all welding process
● Educate and train welder to avoid imperfections during welding if required .
- Root cause analysis for every weld imperfection
- Prepare all documentation related to welding process and activities.
- Review hydro test, PWHT, NDT
- Prepare all inspection reports after successful inspection carried out
- Co-ordination with production & planning dept for inward raw material inspection as per code/specification/drawing/PO/MTC.
- Material receiving & quality checking like MTC, MTR and PMI as per ASME Sec II.
- Reviewed rejected radio graphic films prior to repair and coordinate with the welders for the exact defect’s location as well as the extent of repair to be done.
- Identify requirement for preheat and PWHT as per code/spec/wps/drawing.
- Check electrode baking temperature and proper selection welding consumables as per parent material grade and specification
- Identify and inspect defect, its cause and remedies for continuous improvement in welding processes and quality.
- Inspection, monitoring and maintaining welding quality on the job.
- Carrying out Inward Material Inspection & reviewing the material mill certificate. Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
- To check all repairs are perform correctly & nondestructive tests are regularly repeated.
- Coordinate with TPI and external NDT agency and witness various NDT test performed.
- Controlling fit up and welding stages, dimensional control as per drawing and wps.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION
1. Certified ASNT Level – II in Non-destructive testing as per standard ASNT–SNT-TC–1A
Dye penetrant testing (DPT)
Magnetic particle testing (MPT)
Ultrasonic testing (UT)
Visual Testing (VT)
Radiography testing (RT)
Computer Skills: Auto Cad 2D, MS Office.
