Position Title: Civil QA/QC Engineer
Location: Chennai

Role Overview:
The Civil QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of construction materials, processes, and outputs, in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role includes quality planning, inspection, documentation, and reporting, as well as providing support to project teams to achieve superior quality in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
- Ensure compliance with international and local quality standards.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to identify gaps and areas for improvement in quality processes.
Quality Control (QC):
- Inspect and test construction materials such as concrete, steel, and soil to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure quality control standards are met.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including material test reports, calibration records, and inspection checklists.
- Prepare and submit quality reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Maintain records for audits and future references.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to resolve quality-related issues.
- Train and mentor site staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Participate in risk assessment and mitigation activities related to quality.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: DCE / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience: [e.g., 5–7 years] of experience in QA/QC roles in the civil construction industry.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, NDT Level II/III, Six Sigma) are preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of construction codes and standards.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QA/QC management tools and MS Office. Experience with CAD software is a plus.
- Key Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality management.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in large-scale civil projects (e.g., infrastructure, commercial, or industrial).
- Familiarity with modern construction techniques like precast, post-tensioning, and modular construction.
