Purpose of the role
This is an exciting time to work in General Mills’ DnA organization! We are accelerating a Digital Transformation of our SRM NAR Trade POD to provide a competitive advantage to our business. To this end we are looking for a D&T Principal Software Engineer, with passion for DnA, to join our application development team. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the team to develop/support/maintain the user interface and application for the SRM Grocery and Walmart engines. It will involve designing and leading execution across the full stack of DnA solutions – including user interface design/development (Vue.JS), integration to internal and external APIs (.Net Core), integration with other platforms such as Google GCP, closed-loop technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning technologies, as well as the architecture and development of analytics and data capabilities (.Net Core, GCP analytic stack, Python, Containers, Kubernetes, etc.).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with Product Owners, Solution Managers, D&T Architects, and team to understand the product vision and roadmap, and help design/develop/support/maintain the User interface and application for the SRM Grocery and Walmart Engine.
- Lead the roadmap execution across internal and external teams in India and US – including setting coding standards and enforcing those through code reviews to ensure solution scale.
- Partner with SRM NAR Trade POD to ensure ongoing design and architecture consistency.
- Investigate and resolve complex and multi-faceted issues, spanning the entire technology stack, which require working across teams and technology boundaries.
- Proactively improve solution reliability and key metrics, such as up-time, application performance, time to issue resolution, time spent resolving incidents and other key operational SLAs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered.
- Certification in cloud native application development will be preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline ·
- 14+ years of relevant experience working in Solutions Architecture, Full Stack Development, DevOps and Database Development ·
- Experience with the following development technologies: Microsoft C# .NET CORE, Relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ·
- Proficient in front-end framework (JS preferred, REACT and Angular.)
- Deep technical understanding of GCP ·
- Expert in designing cloud native capabilities and services.
- Knowledge of integration technologies ·
- Excellent communication skills- verbal and written ·
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify problem trends
- Demonstrated ability to coach and lean through others. Familiarity with Agile methodology.
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to prioritize ·
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills ·
- Familiarity with container-based app deployment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity/knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Knowledge of Singe Page Applications (SPA) and Progressive Web Applications (PWA)
- Knowledge of Event Based Architecture (Pub/Sub, Kafka)
- Knowledge of API design and implementation
