Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
- Architecture & Deployment:Design, install, and configure PostgreSQL clusters in DBaaS (AWS, Azure, GCP) using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Performance Tuning: Optimize queries, indexing, and vacuum strategies; troubleshoot latency/issues using tools like pgBadger, EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
- High Availability & DR: Implement replication (streaming/logical), Patroni, repmgr, and PITR/WAL archiving for 24/7 uptime.
- Security: Enforce encryption (TDE, SSL), RBAC, audit logging, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA).
- Automation:** Script provisioning, backups, scaling (Python/Shell), and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring: Set up Prometheus/Grafana dashboards, configure alerts, and analyze logs (ELK Stack).
- Capacity Planning: Forecast resource needs, optimize storage, and manage costs in cloud environments.
- Mentorship: Guide L1/L2 DBAs, conduct knowledge sharing sessions.
- On-Call Support: Resolve critical outages and perform root-cause analysis.
- Education: Bachelor’s in CS, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 8+ years as PostgreSQL DBA, 4+ years in DBaaS/cloud environments.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL 12+, extensions (pg_partman, pgAudit).
- Cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, GCP Cloud SQL).
- HA/DR tools (Patroni, repmgr, pgPool), backup tools (Barman, WAL-G).
- Scripting (Python/Shell), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), monitoring (Prometheus,
