PHP Shopify Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Shopify Developer with 5+ years of expertise in building, maintaining, and enhancing Shopify stores and applications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both the front-end and back-end aspects of Shopify development, with advanced skills in PHP, Shopify’s Liquid language, and third-party integrations. You will be working on complex, high-traffic eCommerce websites, delivering high-quality solutions that meet client needs.

As a Senior Developer, you will be expected to lead projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure seamless, scalable, and secure eCommerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Custom Development: Build and maintain custom Shopify themes, applications, and complex integrations using PHP, Liquid, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Third-Party Integrations: Integrate Shopify with third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRM systems, and external tools to enhance store functionality.
• Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and cross-functional teams.
• Code Optimization & Troubleshooting: Perform performance tuning, debugging, and ensure security best practices are followed in all applications.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with UX/UI designers, project managers, and clients to deliver seamless user experiences and meet business requirements.
• Shopify App Development: Design and develop custom Shopify apps to extend functionality and improve business operations.
• Scalability & Performance: Architect solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and optimize for speed and security.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and development best practices to keep our clients ahead of the competition.
• Quality Assurance: Lead the code review process and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Problem Solving: Handle high-priority issues, bugs, and resolve technical challenges swiftly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in PHP development, with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Shopify development, including custom theme and app creation.
• PHP & Shopify Expertise: Advanced proficiency in PHP, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Shopify API & App Development: Strong understanding of Shopify’s API, REST, Webhooks, and the development of custom apps and integrations.
• Version Control: Advanced knowledge of Git or similar version control tools, with experience in branching, merging, and deployment strategies.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and lead technical projects.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Strong skills in debugging, problem-solving, and optimizing code for speed and scalability.
• Security Best Practices: Knowledge of best practices in eCommerce security, including PCI compliance and data protection.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working in a collaborative, Agile environment with designers, project managers, and other developers.
• Client-Facing Experience: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide strategic solutions.
• SEO & Performance: A solid understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to implement them effectively within Shopify stores.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Shopify Plus: Hands-on experience working with Shopify Plus and large-scale eCommerce solutions.
• Other eCommerce Platforms: Familiarity with other eCommerce platforms like WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce is a plus.
• Frontend Frameworks: Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.
• Shopify Certifications: Shopify Plus certification or other relevant Shopify certifications are highly desirable.
• Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in PHP development, with at least 3+ years of experience focused on Shopify development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
