Performance Test Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Define and implement the performance engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap. • Lead the design and implementation of performance testing frameworks, tools, and method-ologies. • Establish and lead the Performance Engineering Centre of Enablement (CoE). • Partner with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to integrate performance engi-neering into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Collaborating with development teams to implement performance-focused coding practices. • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams on performance best practic-es. • Conduct performance profiling, tuning, and capacity planning for complex systems. Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. • Work closely with DevOps, SRE, and QA teams to align performance objectives with operation-al goals. Drive the adoption of automated performance testing within CI/CD pipelines. • Identify, evaluate, and implement performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6, Load-Runner). • Develop reusable performance testing scripts and frameworks. • Collaborate with observability teams to ensure performance monitoring and alerting solutions are in place. • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in performance engineering.

Skills

• Master's degree/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. • Proven experience (8+ Years) in Performance Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. • Strong expertise in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, Gatling). • Development background preferred. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Experience in working with Agile and DevOps methodologies. • Knowledge of integrating performance tests into Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps. • Experience with Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Datadog. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple pri-orities. • Certified Performance Testing Professional (CPTP) • ISTQB Performance Testing Certification • Certified Jmeter tester
