Oracle PL-SQL Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our dynamic team in Pune.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable database solutions using Oracle PL/SQL.

You will be responsible for working on complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the performance and integrity of our database systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database concepts, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Design and Development :

• Design and develop complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL queries to support application requirements.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, data flow diagrams, and unit test plans.
  
  

Performance Tuning And Optimization

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PL/SQL code and SQL queries.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques.
• Conduct performance testing and provide recommendations for improvement.
  
  

Database Administration And Maintenance

• Collaborate with Database Administrators (DBAs) to ensure database availability, security, and integrity.
• Assist in database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  
  

Collaboration And Communication

• Work closely with business analysts, application developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding project status, issues, and resolutions.
  
  

Problem Solving And Innovation

• Analyze complex problems and provide creative and effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle technologies and industry trends.
• Contribute to the improvement of development processes and methodologies.
  
  

Mentorship And Guidance

• Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical assistance and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices and standards.
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
• Strong proficiency in writing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and dynamic SQL.
• Extensive experience with SQL query optimization and performance tuning techniques.
• Solid understanding of Oracle database concepts, including database design, normalization, indexing, and partitioning.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data models.
• Familiarity with Oracle database tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar.
• Experience with version control systems like Git, SVN.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle APEX development.
• Knowledge of Oracle Forms and Reports.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
