Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine database administration tasks, including backups, restores, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain high availability solutions, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Manage ASM disk groups, adding and removing disks as needed.
- Conduct database patching and upgrades, following established procedures.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize database performance and design.
- Implement and enforce security best practices to protect sensitive data.
- Stay current with Oracle database technologies and industry trends.
- Proficiency in Oracle RAC patching and ASM disk management.
- Experience with RMAN backups and recovery procedures.
- Strong understanding of Data Guard and switch over operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of CRSCTL and SRVCTL utilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and address performance issues.
- Experience with force logging and its application in standby creations.
- Familiarity with single-node database service management.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating patching activities and explaining procedures.
- Ability to document and articulate solutions clearly.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.
- Previous exposure to database synchronization and disaster recovery scenarios.
