Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) – EXADATA & Golden Gate Specialist

Mandatory Skills:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, and 23ai databases.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience with Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata, ExaCS, ExaCC).
• Experience with Grid Infrastructure, DOM0 patching, and database patching.
• Expertise in Oracle Fleet Management Tool.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery mechanisms including RMAN.
• Prior experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Oracle Data Guard setup, configuration, and DR drill execution.
• Solid understanding of Flash Recovery Area (FRA) and data recovery processes.
• Experience in implementing database security features (e.g., Database Vault).
Hands-on experience with Oracle Golden Gate for data replication.

Good to Have Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience in PL/SQL development and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of Oracle BI tools (OBIEE, Oracle Analytics).
• Automation scripting using Unix Shell, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with other RDBMS like MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, PerconaDB.
• Understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer and analyze business-critical production databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
• Act as the primary DBA Lead and point of contact for customer IT teams, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance.
• Own and drive incidents from identification to root cause analysis (RCA) and resolution.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute weekend changes and maintenance activities by leading an offshore DBA team.
• Participate in customer architecture design, cloud adoption, and modernization initiatives.
• Engage in capacity planning, performance tuning, and health monitoring of engineered systems and databases.
• Contribute to backup/recovery strategies, DR planning, and security compliance.
• Drive knowledge sharing, mentor junior DBAs, and foster a culture of continuous learning. rapidly scaling environments.
