Position Title: OCPP Software Engineer / Developer
Location: Pune, India (On-site/Remote Hybrid)

Job Overview:
As an OCPP Software Engineer at WBG Charging Sol (IN) Private Limited, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) software solutions for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the EV domain, along with a deep understanding of international and Indian EV standards (IEC, IS), including OCPP, OCPI, and the operational aspects of EV Charging systems. This role involves working with a global team, ensuring that the local EV infrastructure is seamlessly integrated with international operations. You will play a pivotal part in solving software issues, contributing to the development of innovative features, and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable OCPP implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. OCPP Protocol Development and Maintenance:
· Implement and maintain OCPP versions 1.6 and 2.0.1 for EV charging stations, ensuring compliance and smooth operation with central management systems (CMS).
· Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and software improvements based on OCPP protocols.
· Collaborate on resolving communication issues between charging stations and management systems to enhance system reliability and functionality.
2. Smart Grid Integration:
· Integrate OCPP-compliant chargers with local and global smart grid networks, focusing on load balancing, dynamic pricing, and demand response features.
· Contribute to smart charging strategies that reduce grid load during peak hours through data-driven energy management solutions.
3. Collaborative Troubleshooting and Support:
· Work closely with a globally distributed software team, ensuring timely troubleshooting and escalation of complex software issues.
· Provide local support to quickly resolve software challenges, leveraging remote global teams when needed while maintaining autonomy in the Indian operations.
4. Data Analytics and Security:
· Use OCPP data for advanced analytics, providing insights for grid optimization and infrastructure scaling.
· Ensure robust security protocols to safeguard charging operations and customer data, adhering to international standards for secure EV infrastructure.
5. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
· Document code, system processes, and configurations, ensuring easy knowledge transfer and future-proofing the development process.
· Provide clear and detailed documentation for system updates and feature releases.
6. User Journey Optimization:
Analyze the customer journey of EV users, enhancing user experience through software features and upgrades, improving charging efficiency and accessibility.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
? 1-3 years of experience in OCPP software development, with a focus on EV charging infrastructure.
? Strong programming skills in C++, Java, or Python, with hands-on experience in embedded systems development.
? Familiarity with smart grid integration and demand response functionalities is a plus.
? Working knowledge of OCPP versions 1.6 and 2.0.1 is essential.
Preferred Skills:
? Experience with real-time operating systems and secure software practices.
? Familiarity with ISO 15118 and other EV-related standards is highly desirable. (+ Indian EV Charging Standards IS 17017)
? Experience working with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
? Prior experience in smart grid and energy management systems would be advantageous.

? Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and in global collaboration.
? Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across international and cross[1]functional teams.
? Flexibility to work in a hybrid model (onsite/remote) based in Pune, India
