Job Responsibility:

• Designing and developing server-side applications: Node.js developers are responsible for designing and developing server-side applications using Node.js. This includes developing APIs, creating server-side web applications, and building end systems.

• Collaborating with front-end developers: Node.js developers work closely with front-end developers to ensure that the server-side application integrates smoothly with the client-side interface.

• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code: Node.js developers are responsible for writing code that is reusable, testable, and efficient. This includes developing modular code, adhering to coding standards and best practices, and using appropriate design patterns.

• Troubleshooting and debugging: Node.js developers are responsible for identifying and fixing issues with the server-side application. This includes troubleshooting and debugging code, identifying performance bottlenecks, and optimizing the application for better performance.

• Integrating third-party services: Node.js developers may need to integrate third-party services such as databases, payment gateways, and APIs into the server-side application.

• Ensuring security and data protection: Node.js developers are responsible for ensuring that the server-side application is secure and that user data is protected. This includes implementing appropriate security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization.

• Documenting code and processes: Node.js developers are responsible for documenting their code and processes to make it easier for other developers to understand and work with the codebase.

• Technology Research: Understanding and augmenting the system and application architecture as needed. Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and technologies. Learn new technology and distribute it to team members.

KPAs (Key Performance Areas):

• Application design and development: This involves designing and developing server-side applications using Node.js. The Node.js developer must have a solid understanding of application design principles and be able to create efficient and scalable applications.
• Collaboration: Node.js developers must collaborate effectively with front-end developers to ensure that the server-side application integrates smoothly with the client-side interface.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

• Code quality: Measure the quality of code written by the developer, including the use of coding standards, best practices, and design patterns. This could be measured by the number of code reviews passed, the number of bugs found in the code, or the complexity of the code.
• Efficiency: Measure the efficiency of the server-side application developed by the developer, including response time, memory usage, and CPU utilization. This could be measured by the number of requests per second the server can handle, the time it takes to complete a request, or the amount of memory used by the application.
• Integration with third-party services: Measure the successful integration of third-party services such as databases, payment gateways, and APIs into the server-side application. This could be measured by the number of successful API calls, the accuracy of data retrieved from third-party services, or the response time of the API calls.
• Security: Measure the security of the server-side application developed by the developer, including the implementation of appropriate security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization. This could be measured by the number of security vulnerabilities found in the application or the success rate of security audits.
• Collaboration with front-end developers: Measure the success of collaboration with front-end developers to ensure the smooth integration of the server-side application with the client-side interface. This could be measured by the number of successful deployments or the accuracy of data displayed in the user interface.
• Troubleshooting and debugging: Measure the success of identifying and fixing issues with the server-side application, including the time it takes to fix an issue and the number of issues fixed per sprint.
• Documentation: Measure the quality and completeness of documentation produced by the developer, including the accuracy and clarity of the documentation. This could be measured by the number of documentation errors found during code reviews or the number of documentation updates made based on user feed.
• Research and Development: Percentage of time spent on researching and learning new techniques, tools, or trends in Node.js game development. Number of new ideas or features proposed based on research.

Required Skills & Qualification:

Mandatory skills required:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Knowledge of OOPs in Javascript, C & C++
• Sound knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript & Jquery.
• Experience with Node.js and frameworks available for it (eg: Express, Socket.io) to build RESTful APIs.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Individual needs to have a good understanding of English speaking and writing.
• Basic understanding of User Authentication.
• Ability to write maintainable, pluggable, modular, clean code with a detailed understanding of business logic.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Understanding of NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support application processes.
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and Workaround.
• Knowledge of version control (Git).

Optional skills required:

• Good to have a candidate with experience or having knowledge of Socket.io/ web socket & Redis (known for database or message broker).
• Should have knowledge of commonly used AWS services like S3 Bucket, SES, EC2, AWS Lambda.
• Experience or knowledge in common third-party APIs(Google, Facebook, Stripe).
