Network & Firewall Engineer L3

Overview

Summary: Implement, secure, and maintain enterprise network and firewall architectures to support business and security needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage advanced network solutions, including data center and WAN environments.
• Implement firewall solutions based on organizational security policies.
• Configure and troubleshoot complex protocols like BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, and advanced firewall technologies.
• Lead critical incident resolution, joining and driving Major Incident Management (MIM) calls for Sev1 and Sev2 issues.
• Conduct risk assessments and create firewall optimization strategies.
• Oversee high-availability, disaster recovery configurations, and integration of network devices and firewalls with SIEM and other security tools.
• Act as an escalation point for major network and security issues and mentor L1/L2 engineers.
• Ensure compliance with network security, regulatory standards, and best practices in both networking and firewall environments.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in network and firewall architecture, administration, and security.
• Certifications like CCIE, JNCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE7, or Check Point CCSE (preferred).
• Expertise in data center fabrics (e.g., VXLAN, EVPN), SD-WAN solutions, and advanced firewall technologies like Palo Alto Panorama, FortiManager, or Cisco FMC.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure), hybrid environments, and next-gen firewall technologies.
• Familiarity with complementary technologies like VMware NSX is desirable.
