Network Engineer L2

Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer L2 to design, implement, manage, and maintain our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless network operations, optimize performance, and implement security measures to safeguard data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Design & Planning:

Assess business requirements to design and plan network architecture.

Select appropriate technologies and hardware.

Create network diagrams and maintain documentation.

2. Network Implementation & Configuration:

Deploy and configure networking devices such as routers, core switches, and PoE switches (L3 Cisco, Aruba, Juniper).

Configure load balancers, stacking, and access points (Cisco, Aruba, Sophos) with controller management.

Assign IP segments, configure VLANs, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Configure and manage SAN switches and zoning for HP, Dell EMC, and NetApp storage devices.

3. Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

Monitor network performance using tools like Zabbix, Nagios, etc.

Identify and resolve network issues such as outages, latency, or bottlenecks.

Analyze traffic patterns, perform packet captures, and investigate security incidents.

4. Network Security:

Implement and maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.

Configure and manage firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos, Juniper, Checkpoint), VPNs (SSL VPN & IPsec), and intrusion detection and prevention systems.

Develop security policies, NAT rules, and port forwarding configurations.

Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

5. Network Maintenance & Upgrades:

Perform regular maintenance, including firmware upgrades, patch management, and hardware replacements.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for RMA processes and scheduled maintenance windows to minimize downtime.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2+ years of experience as a network engineer or in a similar role.

Strong expertise in network hardware, protocols, and security practices.

Experience with Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper networking equipment.

Proficiency in firewall management, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent are a plus.

Pay: ₹187,711.95 - ₹880,421.19 per year
