Overview
A Network Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting an organization's computer networks. This includes local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and internet connections. They ensure that the network infrastructure is secure, reliable, and performs optimally for all users.
Experience- 3+ year
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance, ensuring optimal uptime and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Perform regular network maintenance and updates to ensure security, scalability, and reliability.
Configure and manage network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain network solutions for business needs.
Troubleshoot network issues and provide support to end-users regarding network connectivity.
Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols within the organization.
Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams and configuration files.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices regarding data security and network management.
Key Skills:
Experience with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VLANs, VPNs, SNMP, subnetting, and NAT(NLB) and (QoS) etc.).
Knowledge of network security practices (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection, VMware NSX, Cisco SD-WAN).
Familiarity with network management tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, Wireless technologies (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus) etc.).
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
