Network Engineer

Overview

1. Network Setup and Installation

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Set up wireless and wired networks.
• Ensure proper integration of network services, such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Monitor network performance and ensure optimal operation.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and system outages.
• Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades, including security updates.

3. Security Management

• Implement network security protocols to protect against cyber threats.
• Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
• Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and changes.
• Create reports on network performance and incidents for management.

5. User Support

• Assist users with network-related issues.

6. Collaboration

• Work with IT teams to implement new technologies.
• Coordinate with vendors and external support teams for repairs and upgrades.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs, etc.).
• Knowledge of routing and switching.
• Experience with network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.).
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and cloud services.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• CompTIA Network+.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in network support or IT infrastructure roles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ?25,000.00 per month
