Network Engineer
Experience, Knowledge, And Qualifications You Need
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in a Network Operations Engineer role.
- CCNA certification is mandatory; CCNP certification preferred or actively being pursued.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Branch & Data Centre Switching and Routing
- Wireless technologies – setup, troubleshooting, and security
- Enterprise Firewalls – especially CheckPoint and Palo Alto
- Internet routing and security principles
- Cloud technologies (understanding is a strong plus)
- Interior and exterior routing protocols
- Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN technologies
- Proxy technologies – Bluecoat or McAfee
- Load Balancers
- IP Address Management and network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP
- Network management, monitoring & diagnostic tools
- Network probes and packet capture analysis
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience working within the ITIL Framework
- Proficiency with ServiceNow platform
- Awareness or knowledge of voice, video, and audio-visual solutions
- Collaborate as part of a global, multi-locational cross-matrix team in a dynamic environment
- Play a key role in maintaining and evolving the technical network estate
- Focus on operations and sustaining engineering, with occasional project/change work
- Partner with teams such as Service Desk, Platforms, Information Security, and End User Services
- Take ownership of incidents, problems, and issues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and OLAs
- Serve as a technical resource for:
- Change requests and project implementations
- Maintenance activities, firmware upgrades, and patch cycles
- Work using standard operating procedures and internal documentation
- Log and update incidents/requests via ServiceNow
- Maintain awareness of technology roadmaps for both existing and upcoming solutions
- Shift work, weekend support, and on-call responsibilities are part of the role
