Network Administrator

Overview

Job Title: Network Admin

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our IT team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our company’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other network systems.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security.
Manage and configure network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Implement and manage network security protocols such as firewalls, VPNs, and anti-virus solutions.
Perform regular network backups, updates, and patches to ensure system stability and security.
Respond to network outages and incidents, providing timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
Collaborate with other IT professionals to design, implement, and improve network infrastructure.
Manage IP address allocation and network topology.
Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams and system configurations.
Conduct routine network testing and monitor for performance issues.
Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding network-related issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and services.
Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.).
Proficiency in network security protocols and best practices.
Knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS).
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
