We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Responsible in managing, planning, scheduling, controlling and release of a packaged software and Monthly patches through different stages and environments, including software testing and MECM deployments to Production Windows machines, SSD’s (ATM’s) and MAC machines using JAMF for centralized countries only.
- Co-ordinate with other teams (Packaging, Gate Keeping, MECM, Build Teams and Patch Governance teams) to release of new software and patches in accordance with CWD Standards.
- Testing applications and patches before rollout to minimize incidents affecting users.
- Providing users an opportunity to accept functionality of software before it is fully implemented.
- Maintaining structured approach to rolling out all new software.
- Piloting in advance of rollouts, which means that users do not experience system downtime.
- Perform investigation, based on problem records or incidents, passed by 2nd line teams, Testing COE, MECM team and other support areas (2nd level), for package related issues.
- Promote teamwork within the team.
- Assist other team members with process related queries.
- Stop escalations for other team members wherever applicable and possible.
- Streamlining Process with new automations.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software and Patch deployments through MECM, SQL queries and Active Directory.
- Candidate should be at least a graduate in any discipline with 5 years of IT experience.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within limited timescales, whilst maintaining quality.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver service, to agreed service levels, within a diverse and constantly changing technical environment. Willingness to work outside office hours on occasions, including weekends.
- Enthusiasm for new technologies and change.
- Good working knowledge of SQL queries, Windows Operating Systems and Active Directory.
- Strong interpersonal skills & good customer service skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical skills to quickly assess situations, their impact and options for resolution with high level of judgment and decision-making skills.
