Kernel Architecture:

A solid understanding of the Linux kernel's structure, including modules, system calls, and memory management.

Drivers:

Experience with writing, debugging, and optimizing device drivers, potentially focusing on specific hardware like network interfaces, storage devices, or graphics cards.

System Calls:

Knowledge of how user-space applications interact with the kernel through system calls.

Kernel Modules:

Ability to create and manage kernel modules for extending kernel functionality.

Performance Tuning:

Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks within the kernel or drivers.

Security:

Understanding of kernel security issues, vulnerabilities, and patching procedures.

Debugging:

Proficiency in using tools like gdb, perf, and dmesg to debug kernel issues.

Potential Areas of Expertise:

Real-time systems:

If your experience includes real-time operating systems (RTOS), you might have knowledge of features like PREEMPT_RT.

Cloud-native technologies:

If your experience includes working with containerization or virtualization technologies, you might have knowledge of kernel-level features used in these environments.

Specific Hardware:

Depending on your experience, you might have expertise in specific hardware platforms or technologies.
