Lead I - Software Engineering - Java Developer

UST is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Hibernate to design, develop, and optimize enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Java API integrations, database platforms (DB2, Sybase, MSSQL Server), and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP). This role requires leadership in Agile development, unit testing, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate Java-based solutions.
• Work with DB2, Sybase, and MSSQL Server for data management and optimization.
• Write unit test cases to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
• Implement best practices in Agile development, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application enhancements and performance improvements.
• Utilize cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for deployment and scalability.
• Guide and mentor junior developers to ensure best coding practices.

Must-Have Skills:

• 5 to 12 years of experience in Java development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices.
• Proficiency in RESTful API development and Java API integration.
• Experience with DB2, Sybase, or MSSQL Server.
• Hands-on experience in Agile development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
• Experience in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• At least 3 years of experience in a development project.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Kafka.
• Exposure to DevOps practices.

Experience Range:

• 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in Java development.
