Job Title: L4 Network Engineer - Nokia 7250/7750 Platform

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with expertise in Nokia 7250 and 7750 platforms, particularly focusing on IP routing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, with a deep understanding of IP routing protocols. The Network Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, scalability and security of network infrastructure. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and ready work in flexible timing.

Responsibilities:

Implement, maintain and migrate network infrastructure based on Nokia 7250 and 7750 platforms.

Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, ISIS and VPRN.

Configure, troubleshoot, Optimize services like ePipe, IES, VPRN.

Managing NOKIA NSP platform.

Level 3/Level 4 support for network infrastructure on Nokia platforms.

Collaborate with other teams to design and implement network security policies and solutions.

Conduct regular network audits and implement best practices for network performance and security.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.

Participate in the evaluation and testing of new hardware, networking technologies.

Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering roles, with a focus on Nokia 7250 and 7750 platforms.

Strong expertise in IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS along with VPLS , VPRN, IES and VXLAN.

Hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting Nokia 7250 and 7750 routers.

Proficiency in network design principles and best practices.

Good understanding of network security principles and protocols (e.g., ACLs, IPSec, VPN).

Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) for network management and automation.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

1. Strong Understanding and Practical Experience of MPLS:

◦ Label Distribution Protocols (LDP, Targeted LDP, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing).

◦ MPLS VPNs (L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, Virtual Wire).

◦ Traffic Engineering (TE) - In-depth knowledge of MPLS-TE and SR-MPLS.

2. Expertise in Nokia IP Routing Platform:

◦ Deep knowledge of Nokia Service Routers (e.g., 7750 SR, VSRs) and Nokia IXR routers (e.g., 7250, 7220, e.t.c).

◦ Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) for automation and management.

◦ SR OS (Service Router Operating System) and SR Linux configuration and troubleshooting.

3. IP Routing and Switching:

◦ Advanced knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS.

◦ Route reflection and redistribution strategies.

◦ Troubleshooting routing loops and suboptimal routing.

4. Network Monitoring and Tools:

◦ Understanding Nokia health and diagnostics tools.

5. Datacentre Overlay Technology:

◦ Expert level knowledge of GRE, VXLAN and EVPN designs.

6. QoS (Quality of Service):

◦ Designing and implementing QoS policies.

◦ Prioritisation of network traffic for critical services.

7. Troubleshooting and Support:

◦ Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently, including IP routing, MPLS VXLAN EVPN related issue.

Certifications: Industry certifications such as Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA)
