Junior System and Network Administrator

Overview

Job Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose hardware and software problems (Linux and Windows OS), and replace defective components as required.
2. Setting up of Development systems including OS installation and other required software.
3. Maintain and administer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, applications software, and all configurations.
4. Operate consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
5. Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
6. Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
7. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
8. Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
9. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to suggest where changes will need to be made in the future.
10. Identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
11. Analyze Performance to determine the need for repair or replacement.
12. Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
13. Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.
14. Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
15. Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases.

Skills Required:
1. 1 year experience in a similar role.
2. Strong Communication Skills in English.
3. Strong knowledge of Linux, Hardware Networking and Docker.
4. Hands-on experience in Routers and Switches including VLAN and DHCP management.
5. Understanding of basic network fundamentals including IP Address and Subnets, Ethernet, WAN, LAN, etc.
6. Knowledge in Linux package management tools.
7. Quick learner, a passion for upskilling and keeping up with the latest trends in the industry.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving/ troubleshooting skills.
9. Good technical documentation and communication skills.
10. Experience in Network Firewall (Pfsense / Cyberoam / Fortigate / Untangle) - Any one firewalls.
11. Preferably based in Goa.

Additional Skills:

1. Troubleshooting Skills on Server (Mysql/Nginx).
2. Experienced with Docker environment setup.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹280,000.00 - ₹330,000.00 per year
