Junior QA Engineer

Role purpose and key accountabilities

A Junior QA Engineer is responsible for creating innovative automated testing strategies, carrying out Quality Assurance and testing tasks, and designing, reviewing, and executing test cases based on specifications. This includes developing and running tests across the platform to ensure the application's performance, scalability, functionality, and security.

Key accountabilities

• Design and develop test automation scripts, execute test cases, report defects, and ensure adherence to standards and procedures while maintaining detailed documentation

• Proactively identify and resolve issues, pay attention to detail, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices

• Understand the project lifecycle, prepare test cases for enhancements/bugs, and collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to ensure quality throughout development

• Participate in meetings, training, and walkthroughs, and create a personal education plan for continuous improvement in technology and architecture

Skills and Experience

• Fresher with a strong affinity for Quality Assurance and a keen analytical mindset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and in teams

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, QA tools, and programming (Java/Python)

• Familiar with QA concepts, methodologies, and a thorough understanding of SDLC

Education

· Masters/bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or information technology
