Job Description:
As a PHP Developer at SLBS Marklance, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to build user-friendly platforms that meet the evolving needs of our learners and educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Web Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain dynamic, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP and associated frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter).
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with front-end developers, UX/UI designers, and project managers to implement new features and enhancements for the platform.
- Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) to ensure data integrity, efficiency, and scalability.
- API Integration: Develop and integrate APIs, including third-party services, to extend the functionality of the platform.
- Code Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure the longevity of the codebase.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve issues with the platform, including bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
- Testing & Deployment: Ensure the application is fully tested, and assist with deployments to staging and production environments.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, tools, and best practices in PHP development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional experience in PHP development.
- Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with PHP, including frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Symfony.
- Web Technologies: Strong understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Database Knowledge: Expertise in MySQL or other relational databases, and knowledge of database design and optimization.
- Version Control: Experience with Git, GitHub, or other version control systems.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to write efficient, clean, and well-documented code.
- Familiarity with Agile: Experience working in an Agile development environment (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
Preferred Skills:
- Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experience with building or integrating LMS platforms or educational tools.
- Cloud Technologies: Knowledge of cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
- Front-end Frameworks: Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js.
- Unit Testing: Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as PHPUnit.
- DevOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools.
