Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior System Administrator to join our team and support the IT infrastructure for our international clients. As a Junior System Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the systems, networks, and servers across different geographical locations. You will work closely with senior system administrators to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth operation of IT services for our global client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the configuration, administration, and maintenance of multi-region servers, workstations, and network devices for international clients.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems by performing regular monitoring and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system performance, network connectivity, hardware, and software across different time zones.
- Assist in setting up and managing user accounts, permissions, and access control using tools such as Active Directory.
- Support and monitor critical IT services (email, file sharing, VPN, etc.) to ensure global operations are uninterrupted.
- Assist with backups, disaster recovery processes, and data integrity checks for international systems.
- Maintain and ensure up-to-date security patches, antivirus, and firewall settings on servers and workstations.
- Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support to end users across different locations, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of systems, configurations, and troubleshooting processes for clients in various regions.
- Participate in the deployment and management of virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure).
- Support the IT team in ensuring compliance with international IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy management, and user management.
- Basic knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve system issues across different time zones.
- Understanding of security best practices, including firewalls, antivirus, and patch management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients across different regions and time zones.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure in an international context is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 1-4 years of experience in IT support or system administration, ideally working with international clients or remote teams.
- Experience with remote desktop support and troubleshooting.
Certifications (optional but beneficial):
- CompTIA A+ or Network+.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent certifications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification (desirable for working with international clients).
- Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) is a plus.
