Overview

Job Summary

  • 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience in Java-based programming with framework experience.
  • Significant coding skills in Java, Oracle PL/SQL with other languages being a major plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of current frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries.
  • Ability to work with other developers and assist junior team members.
  • Meticulous at both analysis and execution.
  • Designing, creating, and implementing Java-based applications and/or Oracle Database.
  • Ensuring that written code falls in line with the project objectives.
  • Identifying and resolving immediate and potential issues with applications.
  • Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding.
  • Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables.
  • Good written and verbal communication.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Interpret, build upon, and comply with company development/coding standards.
  • Carefully maintain complaint and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root cause and corrective actions.
  • Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits.

Business

  • Determining application functions and building objectives with the team.

Processes

  • Interpreting briefs to create high-quality coding that functions according to specifications.
  • Experience on ADO, Jenkins, BitBucket, Ansible are added advantage.
  • Working on Agile SDLC, JIRA and Banking domain knowledge are added advantage.

People & Talent

  • Ability to work with other developers and assist junior team members.
  • Identify training needs and take action to ensure company-wide compliance.
  • Pursue continuing education on new solutions, technology, and skills.
  • Problem solving with other team members in the project.

Risk Management

  • Interpreting briefs to create high-quality coding that functions according to specifications

Governance

  • Develop new standards for production and design, with improvements as needed, and create testing protocols for implementation across all service lines.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Serve as a Director of the Board
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in team
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
  • Multiple functions (double hats)

Qualifications

Java certification is an added advantage.
