Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring all systems function optimally. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to support and educate users on technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide technical support for hardware and software issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- User Support: Assist employees with computer-related problems, including network access, software usage, hardware issues, and system configurations.
- System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the functionality of company servers, networks, and computer systems to prevent downtime.
- Software and Hardware Installation: Install, configure, and upgrade software, operating systems, and hardware systems.
- Network Support: Troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Security Support: Ensure the company’s systems are secure by assisting with antivirus, firewall, and data backup solutions.
- Training and Education: Provide training and documentation to employees on new systems, software, and technologies.
- Incident Documentation: Log all support requests and document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in a ticketing system.
- Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with other IT professionals to manage large-scale technical issues and projects.
- System Updates and Patches: Ensure regular software updates, patches, and security fixes are applied to systems and software.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage IT equipment, ensuring assets are accounted for and properly maintained.
- CCTV Installation & Configration
Qualifications:
- Education: A high school diploma is required, but a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or related technical roles.
- Certifications (preferred but not required):
- CompTIA A+
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- ITIL certification (for service management)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as software applications (Microsoft Office, VPN software, etc.).
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting, including IP configuration, DNS, DHCP, and VPN setup.
- Understanding of hardware components such as computers, printers, routers, and network devices.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services (e.g., Google Workspace, Office 365).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of operating systems, networks, and hardware components.
- Problem Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and fix technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear support instructions to users.

Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with occasional remote support depending on the organization’s needs.
- The role may involve on-call support during non-business hours, especially in cases of urgent system failures.
- This position may require physical labor for setting up or troubleshooting hardware.
