IT Senior Network Engineer

Overview

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a related field.
• Demonstrated thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems, including:

- Routing protocols: RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP

- Switching protocols: STP

- Networking technologies: WAN/LAN, WLANs, MPLS, OSI Model, VLANs, SD-WAN

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues in diverse corporate and remote site environments.
• Minimum of 3 years as a network engineer in a corporate setting.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with Cisco managed switches and switching/routing concepts.
• Valid and current Cisco CCNA certification (or higher).
• Fortinet NSE4 certification (or above).

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for supporting clients' networks, implementing advanced network solutions, and providing remote operational support for House of IT’s Managed Services customers. This role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication with clients, and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

• Work directly with clients to resolve networking issues, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.
• Support the implementation of network projects, acting as a lead in planning, design, and execution.
• Analyze firewall policies and configurations, identifying and implementing necessary changes.
• Review aged firewall rules and adjust based on evolving business requirements while ensuring compliance with departmental and security configuration standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standards documentation, design templates, topology diagrams, network diagrams, and workflow documents.
• Process and resolve network-related Work Orders, Change Requests, and Incidents, participating in root cause analysis and problem management conference calls as needed.
• Handle the daily processing of Change Requests, Incident Handling, and Investigations for network systems.
• Ensure network configurations meet security and operational standards while continuously identifying areas for improvement.
• Provide networking architecture recommendations and consulting services for pre-sales and post-sales support of customer environments.
• Configure and deploy new network devices, including firewalls, switches, access points, and routers.
• Troubleshoot and support existing network devices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Perform preventative maintenance on network devices to prevent potential issues and maintain uptime.
• Document all work performed in the approved ticketing system, ensuring accurate time tracking and detailed notes for future reference.

Pay: From ?100,000.00 per month
