Summary
RealPage is looking for a Database Administrator Level 3 (Microsoft SQL Server) to support production and non-production environments reporting to the Senior Manager of the database team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of multiple database management systems in an Enterprise environment to support our many product lines on Microsoft Windows both On-prem and Cloud Environments. Must be a motivated, team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with a can-do and do-it-right attitude and willingness to mentor others.
Primary Responsibilities
RealPage is looking for a Database Administrator Level 3 (Microsoft SQL Server) to support production and non-production environments reporting to the Senior Manager of the database team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of multiple database management systems in an Enterprise environment to support our many product lines on Microsoft Windows both On-prem and Cloud Environments. Must be a motivated, team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with a can-do and do-it-right attitude and willingness to mentor others.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide DBA support for all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Optimize queries, stored procedures, and server performance. Monitor and manage database performance and capacity
- Migrating SQL Server databases to the cloud Environment as per DBA standards and compliance
- Develop internal processes to support automation of DBA tasks.
- Configure Setup SSAS/SSRS/SSIS
- Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.
- SQL Server replication, mirroring, log shipping, maintenance plans and DR recovery strategies
- Work on tickets and DBA related activities.
- Be a part of Incident management calls and ensure smooth operation with respect to DBA inputs and Provide RCA for Problems
- Identify operational patterns and issues and creatively automate them.
- Evaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues, minimize data redundancy and support capacity planning.
- Monitor Replicated databases; perform day-to-day database administration.
- Implement and support database backup and recovery procedures.
- Perform problem determination (root cause analysis) and document the source of problems and their resolution.
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Microsoft Best Practices with regards to database maintenance thresholds for consistency checks, index fragmentation, statistics, backups, restores.
- Aid customers and other staff members in resolving errors resulting from the use of applications. Recognize and analyze trends in errors with Senior DBAs to identify and install long term solutions to problems.
- Provide On-Call Support on a rotation basis.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including IT and the Product engineering teams.
- Minimum 7+ years of proven experience of MS SQL Server (2016 or above) on Microsoft Windows
- Experience in Production Support supporting a large database environment.
- Experience in Cloud Migrations
- Skill in writing PowerShell scripts to automate database maintenance activities.
- Code stored procedures and T-SQL, develop internal processes to support automation of DBA tasks
- Experience in database performance tuning
- Experience in automating monitoring database technologies
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues both on On-Prem & Cloud
- College degree in computer related field or equivalent experience required.
- Certification in SQL Server administration is preferred.
- Database Admin Certification
- Desired – Cloud (Associate Certifications)
