IT Manager/Administrator (Hospital)

Overview

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager/Administrator to oversee the hospital's IT systems, including software, hardware, networking, and security. This role involves working closely with both clinical and administrative teams to maintain and upgrade systems, troubleshoot issues, and manage IT operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software & System Management:
• Implement and maintain hospital IT systems (EMR, HIS, etc.).
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to update and maintain systems.
• Network & Hardware Management:
• Maintain and manage IT equipment like servers, printers, and computers.
• Ensure the network is functioning smoothly and securely.
• Security & Data Management:
• Monitor system performance and address any security concerns.
• Ensure regular backups of data and medical records.
• Technical Support:
• Provide technical support to staff and manage help desk requests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues quickly.
• Vendor & Communication Management:
• Work with vendors to maintain and support IT equipment.
• Ensure all communication systems (phones, intercoms) are working properly.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications Needed:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or related field.
• Master's degree in IT Management or Healthcare Administration (preferred but not required).
• Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
• Proven experience with hospital IT systems, including EMR (Electronic Medical Records), HIS (Hospital Information System), HRMS, and other healthcare-related software.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, security, and data management.
• Experience with system upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor management.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements for healthcare IT systems (e.g., HIPAA, NABH).
• Certifications (Preferred):
• Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS) or similar certification.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Familiarity with hospital management systems and other healthcare software is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle IT challenges in a fast-paced environment.
