Job Overview:
The Harmony Institute of Excellence in Reproductive Health is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Manager to oversee and maintain our technology infrastructure and systems. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all IT operations run smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support the Institute's mission of advancing reproductive health through research, education, and clinical practice. This is a key leadership role that will require a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain all aspects of the Institute's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software systems.
- System Administration: Manage the administration of internal systems, applications, and databases, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Cybersecurity & Data Privacy: Implement and enforce IT security protocols, data protection practices, and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for staff and users, troubleshooting issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of IT support staff, providing guidance, training, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality support to all Institute personnel.
- Technology Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with the Institute’s goals and supports its research, educational, and clinical objectives.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, ensuring that the Institute’s technology needs are met in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet operational and strategic objectives.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all systems are documented according to internal and external compliance standards, and that regular audits of IT systems and processes are performed.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and data loss in case of IT system failures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in IT management or a related role, preferably within healthcare or research organizations.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems administration.
- Experience managing cybersecurity protocols and data privacy compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Proficiency with cloud-based systems, database management, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical support skills.
- Leadership and team management experience, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a research or healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with reproductive health technologies and systems.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar are a plus.
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, ITIL).
