IT Engineer

Overview

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows operating systems, hardware management, Linux environments, and Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Centre Operations

o Manage and maintain the day-to-day operations of data centre equipment and infrastructure.

o Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.

o Monitor and report on infrastructure performance and proactively identify potential issues.

2. Nutanix Administration

o Administer and support Nutanix environments, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system updates.

o Perform backups, data recovery, and manage virtualized environments using Nutanix solutions.

o Assist with capacity planning and hardware lifecycle management.

3. Windows Server Management

o Perform routine administration tasks on Windows Servers (2019/2022).

o Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based applications and services.

o Ensure system updates, security patches, and compliance are up-to-date across all systems.

4. Linux Administration (Basic)

o Assist with the basic management of Linux servers, including installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring.

o Perform basic shell scripting and automation tasks to streamline processes.

o Troubleshoot and resolve Linux-related issues in collaboration with the senior engineers.

5. Networking Support

o Assist in the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.

o Ensure proper network connectivity and resolve any issues related to connectivity or performance.

o Assist with network security best practices including firewall configurations and VPNs.

6. Incident and Problem Management

o Monitor, respond to, and resolve data centre-related incidents and service requests.

o Conduct root cause analysis for any critical issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

o Collaborate with Remote teams to resolve complex technical issues.

7. Documentation and Reporting

o Maintain detailed records of all data centre configurations, changes, and incidents.

o Generate regular reports on system health, performance metrics, and incident resolution for management review.

o Ensure accurate documentation for disaster recovery procedures and business continuity plans.

8. Collaboration & Support

o Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and changes.

o Provide technical support to other teams and stakeholders as needed.

o Assist in implementing IT projects related to infrastructure, server, and network upgrades.

Key Skills & Experience:

1. Technical Expertise

o Nutanix: Experience with Nutanix HCI, virtualization, and storage management. Familiarity with Prism and Nutanix AOS.

o Windows Server: Hands-on experience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting of Windows Server(2019/2022).

o Linux: Basic experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) for system administration and troubleshooting.

o Networking: Understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switches, routers, and firewalls.

2. Operational Skills

o Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

o Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

o Attention to detail and the ability to work methodically under pressure.

3. Tools and Technologies

o Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., ELK, Zabbix, Symphony).

o Experience with backup and recovery solutions.

4. Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)

o Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or similar.

o Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server certifications.

o Linux Certified (RHCSA & RHSE)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹38,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
