IT Administrator

Overview

The IT Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the company’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, hardware, software, and security systems. The role involves troubleshooting, resolving issues, and ensuring that the IT systems are functioning efficiently to support the business’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and hardware components.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of IT systems.
• Provide technical support for both hardware and software-related issues.
• Administer and support internal and external networks.
• Monitor network performance and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Set up VPNs, firewalls, and manage network security protocols.
• Implement and manage security protocols, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption.
• Monitor and respond to potential cybersecurity threats or incidents.
• Perform regular system backups and data recovery when required.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot IT issues, providing technical assistance to users as needed.
• Ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, or networking issues.
• Maintain comprehensive records of hardware and software assets, configurations, and network setups.
• Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and IT infrastructure status for management.
• Install and configure software applications and operating systems.
• Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with software policies.
• Provide helpdesk support for internal users, including resolving issues related to desktop computers, applications, and other devices.
• Train employees on proper use of IT equipment and software.
• Ensure that all IT processes comply with legal, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with the management team to identify potential IT risks and implement necessary mitigation measures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 2-5 years of experience as an IT Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network management, firewalls, VPN, and IT security protocols.
• Hands-on experience with server administration, Windows/Linux operating systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
• Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Good knowledge of database management and backup systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
