What You'll Do
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering robust and performant solutions for various BCG initiatives supporting the firm’s Finance function, with a focus on integrations across our ERP platform, SAP S4/Hana Public Cloud. Working in an Agile squad environment, the candidate will be a hands-on contributor and leader for all aspects of the project delivery cycle. As a key technical resource, you will work closely with other groups in building new functionality, assisting with architectural designs, helping to define sprints, and partnering to turn requirements into reality. The candidate will serve as line manager for our engineers who are responsible for the ongoing development, configuration, and maintenance of the expanding set of integrations in our catalogue. The candidate will oversee operational support as well as perform all other related tasks, such as
- Lead development efforts, including new functionality or enhancements of existing tools
- Work with vendors on integration designs, modifications, customizations, technical support issues and future software upgrades
- Oversee release management and ensure best practices are followed during each initiative or small enhancement update
- Mentor a global team of engineers on SAP and Mulesoft integration patterns and tooling
- Lead engagement with enterprise architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate complex finance workflows into robust integrations
- Act as escalation point and subject matter expert for production support incidents related to integrations
- Ensure alignment of integration architecture with SAP S/4Hana Public Cloud capabilities and extensibility model (e.g., BTP, APIs, CDS views)
- Write concise and clear Technical Systems Design documents, based on analysis of business requirements
- Work collaboratively with team in supporting the current application environment
What You'll Bring
- College degree and 8-10 years of experience in the delivery of business applications in a commercial IT setting, or in consulting
- Strong knowledge of application integration techniques and best practices, including API management and integration platforms such as MuleSoft
- Software delivery and management skills with experience in CI/CD and cloud engineering
- Experience working in an Agile team on critical line-of-business applications
- Experience building secure modern applications with modern architectures
- Good understanding of security best practices from development and deployment perspective
- Strong technical competence, with the ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies
- Able to adapt easily to changing requirements and priorities
Who You'll Work With
You will report to the Technology Team Lead for our SAP S/4 Hana platform, who will coordinate the technology strategy of this pivotal platform across our teams. You will work closely with other engineering chapter leads and solution architects to establish and implement best practices for platform and integration development and maintenance. You will work with product owners and their agile squads to deliver on defined business outcomes. You will work the broader BCG engineering community to innovate and mature engineering processes in line with industry best practices.
