Front End Developer (WordPress, Shopify)

Overview

We are seeking an outstanding WordPress & Shopify Front-End Developer with experience in WordPress HTML, CSS, and Shopify to handle the design, layout, and development of our website. The role involves working from scratch to create a fully functional, visually appealing website, while also providing support and enhancing functionality on existing sites.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop WordPress websites from scratch, ensuring clean code and adherence to WordPress standards.
• Design and create engaging website layouts and user interfaces from the homepage to the site's overall structure and functionality.
• Provide ongoing technical support to WordPress and Shopify clients through email or chat.
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Create, test, and deploy innovative website applications and custom features for both WordPress and Shopify.
• Regularly update and optimize the websites, ensuring they are visually appealing and technically sound.
• Maintain, expand, and scale the WordPress and Shopify sites, enhancing features and functionality.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web development practices, trends, and technologies.
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases to ensure smooth site operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on both the front-end and back-end of websites.
• Provide detailed descriptions of website specifications and document technical processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in web development, specifically with WordPress and Shopify.
• Front-End Development Skills: Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
• Back-End Skills: Experience with PHP and MySQL databases.
• Web Technologies: Knowledge of web technologies and best practices for responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
• WordPress & Shopify Knowledge: Adequate knowledge of WordPress development, including theme customization, plugin integration, and custom post types. Experience with Shopify theme customization and app integration is a plus.
• Additional Skills: Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and site backups.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues independently, with a focus on efficiency and performance.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Adaptability: A willingness to learn and implement new web technologies and practices.
• Communication: Strong written and spoken English skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Extra Responsibilities:

• Maintain a keen attention to detail and be available for ongoing tasks and improvements.
• Ability to handle new events and membership options for websites in a dynamic environment.
• Regularly communicate with the team to provide accurate expectations and meet deadlines.

Preferred Tools & Platforms:

• Platforms: WordPress, Shopify, Weebly, Wix, Squarespace.
• Design Tools: Photoshop, Canva.
• Tech Skills: WordPress platform, PHP, CSS, HTML, MySQL, SEO, SEOKnowledge, custom work.
• Other Skills: Backup management, front-end and back-end development, and any experience with e-commerce integrations.
