Job Title: FinOps Lead Business Analyst, VP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description:

The DB Cloud FinOps function drives financial accountability of cloud consumption, providing distributed teams with insights into their consumption, spend and optimisation / control options to ensure cloud usage is managed efficiently.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead FinOps Business Analyst to drive financial operations excellence within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. As a key member of the Cloud FinOps team, you will lead our engagement with our staff (business teams through to Engineers) who consume GCP, collaborate with Finance on optimisation initiative tracking and evidence, and produce reports on spend and optimisation progress by our stakeholders. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical teams and finance, fostering transparency, and enabling data-driven decision-making to maximize the value of our GCP investments.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between our team on our stakeholders such as finance, engineering, and business teams.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports, and forecasting models to provide visibility into GCP expenditures, usage trends and performance in optimising spend on GCP.
• Establish and enforce GCP cost governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
• Partner with leadership to define and implement GCP cost management strategies and FinOps methodologies.
• Mentor and guide our stakeholders consuming GCP, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Collaborate with Google Cloud representatives to manage our feature requests, on-going billing issues and/or questions.
  
  
  

Your Skills And Experience

• Proven experience in cloud financial management or FinOps roles, with a deep understanding of GCP cost structures and services. (5+ years)
• Strong analytical skills, with expertise in tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. (3+ years)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
• Solid knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with FinOps principles, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Google Cloud’s Pricing Calculator, CloudHealth, or similar).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; certifications in FinOps or GCP are a plus.
