Key Responsibilities:

• Penetration Testing:Ethical hackers conduct simulated cyberattacks to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.
• Vulnerability Assessment:They assess the security posture of systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors.
• Security Audits:They perform security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Threat Modeling:They analyze potential threats and vulnerabilities to help organizations develop robust security strategies.
• Security Reporting:They document findings, vulnerabilities, and recommendations for improvement in clear and concise reports.
• Security Awareness Training:They may be responsible for educating employees on cybersecurity best practices and potential threats.
• Staying Up-to-Date:They need to remain current with the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and techniques.

Skills Required:

• Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking, security protocols, and common hacking tools.
• Penetration Testing Tools:Proficiency in using tools like Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, etc.
• Programming Languages:Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and vulnerability testing.
• Security Certifications:Certifications like CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) are often valuable.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:The ability to analyze complex systems, identify vulnerabilities, and develop solutions.
• Communication Skills:Ability to clearly communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ethical Conduct:Adherence to ethical hacking principles and legal guidelines.
