DMC AWS Architect - Vice President

Role Summary & Role Description

Candidate is responsible to give strong tech leadership to DMC Architecture group and closely involved in delivery of all major components. Person should be reviewing the current state data & application landscape and setting the strategy for the various DMC application future state architecture to providing direction for delivery of the target state.

The person appointed will be an integral member of the Architecture group in DMC and will be responsible for the design and implementation of the Portfolio wide data & application strategy, ensuring the strategy supports the current and future business needs.

They will apply their knowledge of good architecture practice, architecture documentation and data technologies to comprehensively capture the bank’s current state data architecture and oversee target state design and implementation.

The role will involve collaborating with Business, Data Management Office and internal and external IT stakeholders at all levels to ensure the data strategy and associated implementation is adding value to the Business Stakeholders.

Main duties

• Design the application migration strategy to AWS from on-prem & private cloud systems
• Build Blueprint of future state and execute intermediate state for the cloud journey
• Build highly scalable, low latency applications for front office trading applications
• Solution Architects in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standards
• Lead architecture governance for the portfolio and provide subject matter expert inputs to design decisions across teams within the portfolio
• Build a framework of principles to ensure data integrity across the business
• Strong understanding of production systems and how to mitigate risks during multistage application migration
• Documenting the detailed data & application architecture for both current and target state
• Manage holistic roadmap of architecture change initiatives across the coordinating requirements across different initiatives
• Setting the strategy for architecture to support the Business and IT strategies while maintaining the data architecture principles
• Lead implementations to provide scalable design, state of the art Development & engineering practices, Automation for Quality assurance & Maintenance in production.
• Work closely with global & regional Business and Technology stakeholders
• Participate in org wide initiatives
• Understand and implement data privacy requirements
• Understand the application architecture and data flow/transformation
• Be a key stakeholder and advisor in all new strategic data initiatives and ensure alignment to the enterprise wide data strategy
• Develop key performance measures for data integration and quality
• Support third party data suppliers in developing specifications that are congruent with the Enterprise data architecture
• To strengthen the team with required skills for high quality delivery of technical solutions and to assist in resourcing decisions
• To drive consistent standards and approaches throughout the team, building an environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation
  
  
  

Core/Must Have Skills.

• Strong in Architecture of large-scale applications on AWS and multi cloud strategy
• Micro service Architecture in various programming languages like Java\J2EE, Python for data lifecycle
• Orchestration of application using Kafka and caching strategy for low latency applications
• Strong understanding of applications for Capital Markets Trading platforms & reference data for various business and regulatory
• Strong understanding of application landscape and the supporting technologies such as Java/J2EE, Python, Autosys, Hadoop Spark & Scala, Databricks, AWS, Azure etc.
• Movement of complex multi-tier applications from on-prem to Cloud
• Experience of mapping key Enterprise data entities to business capabilities and applications
• Experience of creating and implementing data strategies that align with business objectives.
• Excellent communication and presentational skills, confident and methodical approach, and able to work within a team environment

Qualification

A bachelor's/master's degree in technology or related field.

Proficiency in Application architecture, Engineering practices & Big data implementations

Strong engineering skills, including knowledge of languages such as Java (Hive, Apache, Hadoop) and Scala (Apache Spark, Kafka).

Strong in cloud infrastructure and cloud strategy on AWS/Azure
