Job Brief
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE-3) with deep expertise in Infrastructure and DevOps to lead high-impact initiatives aimed at improving system reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. You will work closely with engineering leadership to architect robust infrastructure solutions, champion automation efforts, and ensure adherence to industry best practices in security and operational excellence.
This role demands strong technical leadership, the ability to influence cross-functional teams, and a track record of driving complex technical projects to completion. You should be capable of identifying areas of improvement, setting technical direction, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, availability, and scalability of critical infrastructure components.
- Architect and lead the development of internal tools and platforms to enhance developer experience and productivity.
- Drive initiatives to eliminate operational toil through automation and self-service systems.
- Define and implement observability standards—including monitoring, logging, alerting, and golden signal coverage.
- Lead incident response and post-mortem processes, and implement learnings for continuous improvement.
- Partner with engineering teams and vendors to optimize CI/CD pipelines, improve deployment strategies, and enhance overall system efficiency.
- Champion DevSecOps practices, ensuring that infrastructure and code meet high standards of security and compliance.
- Guide system design discussions, make architectural decisions, and ensure alignment with long-term scalability goals.
Requirements and Skills
- 5+ years of Core DevOps experience, with a strong background in building and scaling distributed systems.
- Proven experience in system architecture and design of large-scale cloud-native platforms.
- Deep expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and designing CI/CD workflows for containerized applications.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Operators and custom controllers.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS (preferred) or any major cloud provider.
- Strong experience with monitoring and observability stacks—Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, Loki, New Relic, etc.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages—Golang and Python preferred.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in Linux internals and system administration, including performance tuning, networking, and kernel-level configurations.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
