Database Engineer

Overview

Summary:
Manage and optimize database operations, ensuring data security, high availability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform database administration tasks like index tuning, schema updates, and user management.
• Monitor database health, optimize queries, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Configure and manage database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Implement database security policies and user roles.
• Participate in MIM calls for Sev1 and Sev2 incidents, driving resolution.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in database administration (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB, SQL, Postgres, Redis/Sentinel).
• Proficiency in database clustering, replication, and partitioning techniques.
• Hands-on experience with backup tools like RMAN, Veeam, or SQL Server Backup.
• Strong knowledge of database query optimization and performance tuning.

Certifications like Oracle OCP, Microsoft SQL Server MCSA, or MongoDB Certified DBA (preferred).
