Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role This role is in the Global Resolutions and Protections Portfolio strategy team. Global RnP is responsible for managing the overall policies and processes for PayPal’s post-transaction domain. Post transaction domain involves managing the end-to-end policies, customer experience, risk management and operations optimization responsibilities when a customer files a dispute on a PayPal payment. As a member of the Global Resolutions & Protections Portfolio strategy team, you’ll be customer centric & become a strategic partner for cross functional teams to improve customer experience & achieve margin improvement through Loss and Opex reduction Meet our team We are an End-to-End team of ~30 members consisting of Product Managers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts based out of SanJose, Bangalore, Chennai & Dublin.

Job Description:
Your way to impact

  • Overall ownership of decisions, strategy and policy needed to manage and enhance the internal workflows. Decisions include but not limited to: developing guiding principles on Disputes flow, designing business process architecture and capabilities, long term plans and strategy for the workflows, identifying and delivering opportunities to improve cost, losses and customer experience.
  • Workflow management responsibilities include monitoring the process for long term trends/shifts and process/product breakdowns and bugs.
  • Provide Strategy consulting to Cross functional partners impacting Loss, Experience & Opex


Your day-to-day

  • Own a distinct domain and will be responsible for end outcomes
  • Be a subject expert and point of contact for Protections policies, and Resolutions process
  • Guide analysts to conduct analysis, find opportunities and measure project outcomes
  • Build business cases, sell your ideas internally and obtain leadership approval
  • Work with partner teams such as Modelling, Product and Engineering, Operations,
  • In addition, be hands on with Data and Analytics, BI Tools


What do you need to bring

  • 7+ years in Analytics, Data Science or similar roles & 3+ years in managing projects
  • Experience with data preparation and analysis of large datasets: including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, & drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience with managing projects and defining project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners: Product, Engineering, Customer experience, Modelling, Operations & other partners
  • Passionate about generating insights from data to solve business problems
  • Knowledge of any data and visualization tools like SQL, SAS, Python, QlikView, Tableau
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Background in fraud, credit, risk management, statistics or model building is a plus
  • Education Qualifications: (Must Have) Bachelors or Master’s in Engineering/ Finance/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Economics from Tier I colleges (Good to Have) MBA
