Responsibilities:
- Analyse disaggregated data using modelling, statistics and machine learning, developing and applying these skills to deliver analytical solutions.
- Work with diverse data sets to clean, manipulate, and analyse data using tools such as R, Python and SQL
- Explain complex analytics in a simple and compelling way to a wider community of Data Scientists across the Worldpanel team.
- Develop, program, improving and debug statistical programs.
- Conduct rigorous data and analytical investigations to ensure methodology behind our solutions meets the ongoing client needs with a continuous improvement mindset and approach.
- To work across a range of solutions inclusive of shopper (ranging, pricing and promotions), marketing effectiveness (brand awareness, media), segmentations and forecasting
- To support continuous improvement and innovation in the solutions developed through continuous improvement with the development of new techniques and analytical approaches.
- To be able use a range of technology to present results, conclusions and recommendation to inform and influence key stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis, data science and analytical modelling
- Ability to define, use and apply statistical/ML techniques such as regression, classification and cluster analysis, dimensional reduction. Knowledge about classical techniques like PCA and linear regression, as well as more modern methods such as boosted trees and tSNE, with an ability to compare, contrast and select approach to use to create solutions which align with business need
- Strong programmer. Competence in R, Python and Git is essential. SAS, R Shiny, Angular, Databricks, Spark, Docker or Kubernetes valuable too.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex statistical concepts.
- Organisation skills to manage a wide range of project and delivery effectively.
- An initiative-taker who is committed to developing advanced skills and motivated to learn something new every day.
- An analytical person - enjoys the challenge of problem solving without a clearly defined path.
- Innovative, curious with high level of attention to detail
- English is essential, other languages welcomed.
- Education bachelor’s degree or master’s in a data driven field that contains a large statistical element - Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths or Economics
