Process Overview*

The Data Management team and Enterprise Architecture (DMTEA ) organization is responsible for providing consistent, high-quality technology and operations support for critical Enterprise Control Functions, including the Chief Financial Officer group, Corporate Audit, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Workplace, Global Human Resources, Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Global Risk, Legal and the Corporate Security, Global Sourcing, Enterprise Data Management and other businesses in Global Technology and Operations(GT&O). The team supports more than 400+ applications using various technologies like Hadoop Teradata, BO, Cognos, SAS, Microstrategy, Spotfire, Tableau, Actuate, Java, .NET and others.

Job Description*

The Data Application Services developer as an Individual Contributor is responsible for Teradata/MF/Hadoop application development, maintenance, architect data warehouse solutions, working with Service Delivery Architects, collaborate with other domain specific application, infrastructure, or information team, System Design Engineers and technologists to build data warehouse solutions, support migrations and enhance existing applications

Responsibilities*

• Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications
• Create/maintain design documents for any Teradata/hadoop changes
• Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.
• Experience with tuning system for performance improvements
• Support during platform migrations, new functionality implementations
• Supports best practices, platform usage standards and guidelines
• Guide the team on work breakdown and execution.
• Responsible for compliance and security items and audit support at the team level.
• Act as a liaison for production activities/issues during warranty period
• Play a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team.
• Guide team members with skills and practices (planning & estimation, peer reviews and other engineering practices).
• Identify skill and role gaps, and work with Technology Manager to address them.
• Work with Technology Manager in creating resource contingency plans where required

Education*

• B.E./ B. Tech/M.E./M. Tech/BSC/MSC/BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

Experience Range*

9 -12 Years

Foundational Skills*

• Experience in large companies on ETL projects, global preferred.
• Experience as architect.
• Strong experience in data warehousing, creating data pipelines and data analytics.
• Strong skills in HDFS, Hive, Spark SQL and good knowledge in dmx-H, Hadoop, advanced SQL and Teradata
• Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
• Highly motivated, excellent thought leadership and able to work independently.
  
  

Desired Skills*

• Hadoop Certification
• Business knowledge/understanding, as well as technical knowledge. Approximately a 20% (business) 80% (technical) split
• ETL experience
• Autosys scheduler

Must understand and meet the standards required by the Production Application owners and Business Partners
