As part of the PN NA Data & Analytics team, Data Engineer will help in shaping and executing our data-driven strategies and delivering the products and programs that optimize enterprise planning, end-to-end value chain, commercial procurement, and manufacturing processes, ESG and R&D led Innovation. This will be done by partnering with business and technology teams to bring to life data driven use cases. This individual will be building strong relationship with business stakeholders by developing and delivering the short, medium and long-term D&A Strategy for Digital CORE Solutions in NA and partnering with global teams to find synergies in roadmap and help with scaling the solutions globally to meet our business objectives and will play a critical part in designing and delivering the D&A tools and capabilities as needed.

This role is a project-based transformation role and has a current expected end date of ‘31st December 2026’. As we move closer to ‘31st December 2026’ we will work with you to explore other opportunities for employment within the Mars family of companies. If a suitable alternative role is not available at that time, your employment will end.

What are we looking for?

• 8 - 10 years of experience in the data analytics engineering space, with some relevant focus on working with Supply Chain, Logistics and Manufacturing domain data.
• Strong knowledge and experience in processing big data using Spark
• Strong coding expertise in PySpark, or Scala with Python or other modern programming language development experience
• Experience working in a cloud environment preferably Azure, others is okay.
• Experience in building data pipeline/ETL/ELT solutions
• Ability and strong desire to research and learn new technologies and languages
• Highly knowledgeable in the contemporary data engineering and analytics landscape, the current tools, the latest approaches
• Experienced in practices of DevOps and CICD within a data platform
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the business to help present new ideas and provide recommendations for new technologies

• Highly advantageous - Neo4J / Cypher
• Microsoft Azure cloud technologies e.g. Blob Storage, ADLS, Azure DevOps, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Delta Lake storage layer
• LLM pipeline using framework like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI functions
• Advantageous - Data visualisation tools e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Thoughtspot
• Familiarity with AML/ML FLOW/ML OPS

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Engineer and orchestrate the most complex and challenging data engineering solutions on our cloud-based data platform, using a progressive tech stack e.g. Databricks, Spark, Python, PySpark, ADLS, Delta Lake, Parquet, Neo4J, Flask
• Take full technical ownership and responsibility for challenging focus areas and projects within a complex platform
• Promote DevOps & CI/CD methodologies to collaborate on a growing platform
• Partner with product owners to drive the provision of business value through technical excellence
• Partner with scrum master’s to efficiently deliver technical solutions in an agile and timely manner
• Exercise excellent communication to collaborate with various members of the data solutions team
• Ownership of the end-to-end data engineering component of the solution
• Work closely with analysts, data scientists and technology partners to understand their requirements
