Data Engineer

Ltd., we rely on insightful data to drive our systems and solutions. Our business is growing fast, and we are looking for a skilled ETL developer situated in India to support our colleagues in Chennai and our teams worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us transform raw data into valuable information. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in programming languages, and a passion for improving data quality and reliability. You will work closely with our modelling team and consultants to develop data pipelines, ensuring our data systems align with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Build data systems and pipelines to convert raw data into clean data
• Analyze and organize raw data & perform large amounts of data import tasks via tools or programmatically.
• Perform data transformation, including handling missing data and interpolation
• Convert and process time series data for analysis
• Develop and maintain web scraping scripts to collect data from various online sources
• Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
• Collaborate with data analyst and consultant on several projects.
• Write DB queries and PL/SQL to fetch/modify data
• Write automation scripts to upload data.
• Test and verify the data accuracy.
• Consolidated reports on automatic/manual data imports.
• Tools/API development for accessing the data/reports.
• Application / API testing /Manual testing.
• Ad hoc DB / development tasks

  Qualification & Expected Skillsets.
  Besides, we expect you to enrich our business with the following competencies and skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science Engineering or Equivalent with 5-7 Years relevant experience as Data engineer. Preferably in renewable energy industries and knowledge of energy markets.
  • Proficiency with Database (e.g, SQL MongoDB), Storage system like datalake, web scraping, RestAPI, Microsoft Excel, JSON using Python.
  • Experience working as an ETL developer. Preferably with timeseries data.
  • Ability to analyse a global energy markets.
  • Extensive knowledge of coding languages - Python/R, SQL Developer.
  • Experience in Manual Testing.
  • Knowledge of Database design and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of software development and testing process.
  • Good knowledge of fundamental CS concepts, Data structure, Algorithms, Problem-solving, data base management.
  • Experience working in an Agile Development Team
  • Managing/ Sharing code with Git.
  • Exposure to delivering and managing solutions on Azure.
