Job Title: Data Analyst
Department: Business Intelligence & Analytics
Experience required:
- 5+ years of Product Pricing Data Management, Business Analytics, and/or Project Management experience as a Data Analyst for US/UK regions, with a focus on business intelligence and data visualization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., MSSQL, Python, R, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word/PPT) is a must.
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker). Understanding of Data Modeling, Data Warehouse/Data Mart Design, ETL, Machine Learning, Client/Server applications.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and techniques (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series analysis).
- Excellent English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all management levels. Should be able to articulate thoughts in easy-to-understand manner.
- Excellent interpersonal, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization. Ability to interact with client finance leads, understands the business and process.
- Must be good with time management and multitasking. Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and finish work within strict timelines and provide timely requests for information and follow-up questions. Eagerness to contribute collaboratively on projects and discussions.
- Experience with programming languages like Python or R for data analysis and automation is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field).
Qualifications desired:
- Candidates should have experience with PowerBI with DAX (Modelling, Visualization, and managing access control), Adv SQL and Excel with other data management, reporting and query tools
- Knowing Python or equivalent platforms for Data Analytics, Data Validation and Automation, MS Power platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of Financial data reporting.
- Ability to tell Data stories and drive projects across locations to achieve Organizational goals
- Understanding of Banking products: Loans, Deposits, Treasury Management etc. is a plus.
- The successful candidate will have a very strong interest in developing both business and technical skills while navigating a dynamic business environment.
- Responsible for performing highly complex activities related to business analysis and/or modeling.
- Responsible for senior level consulting partnerships including delivery of findings and recommendations.
- Designs and leads some of the most complex projects/ analyses, generally spanning multiple products/business lines/functional areas/data sources and may involve extremely complex analytical application of industry-leading experimental techniques.
- Data involved typically very large, structured and from multiple sources.
Position Summary:
Analyze large, complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations. Lead or participate in moderately complex programs and initiatives for data quality, governance, and data activities. Design and conduct moderately complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality, data integrity, process, and control gaps. Analyze, assess, and test data controls and data systems to ensure quality and risk compliance standards are met and adhere to data governance standards and procedures. Identify and develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Develop recommendations for optimal approaches to resolve data quality issues and implement plans for assessing the quality of new data sources leveraging domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to inform and support solution design.
Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members. Drive planning and coordination on moderately complex remediation efforts acting as central point of contact. Consult with clients/stakeholders to assess the current state of data quality within area of assigned responsibility.
Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies. Provide input into communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and experienced leaders. Develop and maintain regular reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor business KPIs, insurance claims, underwriting performance, and customer insights.
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Filter and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct coding related problems. Work with stakeholders to prioritize business and information needs.
Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced statistical techniques, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms to drive business outcomes, such as pricing strategies, risk assessment, and customer segmentation. Collaborate with data scientists to refine and optimize models for better accuracy and performance.
Data Visualization: Create compelling visualizations that communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Use tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc. to design user-friendly, interactive dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration: Partner with product, underwriting, and operations teams to identify business problems that can be solved through data-driven solutions.
Advise leadership on data strategies and help prioritize data-related initiatives based on business objectives. Communicate findings and insights to senior management and other teams effectively. Data Governance & Quality: Ensure that all data used in analysis is accurate, consistent, and aligned with business requirements. Work with data engineers to establish best practices for data collection, storage, and processing to ensure data integrity and quality. Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for process improvement and automation in data collection, reporting, and analysis. Suggest ways to optimize internal workflows and improve data accessibility. Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business needs and strategic initiatives.
