Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Embedded Penetration Testing: Conduct security assessments and penetration testing on embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities.
- Reverse Engineering: Analyze software and firmware to identify security weaknesses, exploits, and potential backdoors.
- Threat Modeling & Risk Assessment: Evaluate cybersecurity risks in embedded software and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Software Security & Secure Coding: Ensure that software is developed using secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows, injection attacks, and memory leaks.
- Security Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 21434, SAE J3061, NIST, or other relevant standards).
- Vulnerability Analysis & Exploit Development: Research and develop proof-of-concept exploits to test system resilience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, security teams, and product engineers to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle.
- Incident Response & Forensics: Investigate and respond to security breaches related to embedded systems.
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience Range - 2 to 5 Years
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Embedded Pen Testing and Reverse Engineering of firmware/software.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Assembly.
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, IDA Pro, Ghidra).
- Strong understanding of cryptographic protocols, secure boot, and firmware security.
- Knowledge of embedded system architectures, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 21434, SAE J3061, NIST, or IEC 62443.
- Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC GPEN/GREM.
- Experience in automotive cybersecurity or industrial control systems security.
- Familiarity with hardware security testing and side-channel attacks.
- Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
