Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

THE ROLE – INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Specialist to lead a large-scale migration of up to 40 data center-based servers to a containerized environment on AWS. This role is critical in shaping the future of our document and EDI platform, ensuring timely and secure exchange of business documents between Hapag-Lloyd and partners, authorities, or customers. You will drive strategy, select technologies, and oversee the smooth transition to the cloud while meeting high standards of performance, scalability, and security.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead cloud migration: Strategize and implement the migration of servers from a data center to AWS.
• Architect solutions: Make decisions on technologies and designs to optimize the document and EDI platform for reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure scalability and performance: Build systems capable of handling high loads while maintaining responsiveness.
• Prioritize security and compliance: Design solutions that meet stringent security and compliance standards.
• Oversee smooth transitions: Ensure minimal disruption during the migration process.
  
  
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Technical

• Expertise in AWS, Docker, and containerization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Unix, AIX, and Linux server environments.
• Experience with virtual servers, databases, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar).
• Proven ability to design and maintain highly scalable, high-performance systems.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and compliance requirements.

• Require 10+ years of technology experience with trending technologies.
• At least 7 years of experience in design and development of software, experience with large multinational organisations is highly preferred.
