Why are we Hiring a Cloud Engineer? The Cloud Engineer ensures our cloud computing environments/platforms meet the needs of our organization and customers and is in line with the Instem Cloud strategy. This role supports industry leading technology, tools, processes, and environments/platforms to deliver high calibre cloud-based services and application management to any of our customers, anywhere in the world.

Who’s Instem? Well, we’re a global provider of bespoke industry-leading software solutions and services, which facilitate the pre-clinical, and clinical phases of the drug discovery process. We have over fifteen products in our portfolio, used by over 700 pharmaceutical clients (including all the top 20!)

What are you responsible for?

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based environments/platforms
• Develop and maintain cloud environments/platforms in accordance with best practices
• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs
• Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
• Provision of support and advice to hosting technical support members
• Making sure all support, maintenance, and security tasks performed by the team are properly documented
• The provision of technical advice on cloud technologies, collaboration, knowledge transfer for upskilling SCIT
• Support escalations until resolved
• Responding to and logging of tickets related to delivery of Instem products
• Provision of support / advice at customer sites
• Liaison and consultation with other departments
• Adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure that all work is handled Securely, Professionally and Diligently.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Background in delivering and supporting cloud-based environments/platforms
• Expertise in developing, provision of infrastructure-as-code for cloud based systems
• Windows administration (Active Directory, Group Policies, Application Management)
• Network concepts (DNS, LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP-IP, Firewalls)
• Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
• Azure, AWS, certifications preferred, with an emphasis on AWS
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
