
Overview
Job Overview: As a Cloud Engineer you will leverage your 5-6 years of experience in network engineering, DevOps, and server management to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure. The role requires work with cross functional teams to automate processes, improve system reliability, and optimize cloud environments. This role requires a hands-on approach to deploying and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring they are secure, cost-effective, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
Network Engineering: Design and manage networking components in the cloud, including virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and VPCs.
DevOps Automation: Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
Server Management: Oversee server and system administration tasks, including deployment, scaling, and patching of cloud-based servers (Linux/Windows).
Monitoring & Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Datadog) and optimize cloud resources to improve performance and reduce costs.
Collaboration & Support: Work with development, operations, and security teams to ensure cloud services are integrated and optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
Security & Compliance: Ensure that cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and regulatory requirements; implement security measures like IAM policies, encryption, and access controls.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 5-6 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, network engineering, DevOps, and server management.
Cloud Platforms: Strong working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts, including routing, subnets, IP addressing, DNS, load balancing, VPN, and firewall management in cloud environments.
DevOps Tools: Proficiency with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet; experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
Server Management: Experience managing and configuring Linux and Windows servers, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Scripting/Programming: Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go.
Containerization & Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
Security: Experience with cloud security best practices, including IAM, network security, encryption, and identity management.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams. Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is a plus.
Database Management: Experience with cloud-native databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, Cloud Spanner).
